Connecticut State Police troopers were dispatched to Schofield Road in Willington shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, where there was a report of a woman shouting for help in the area.
Investigation into the incident determined that a domestic dispute had taken place, police said, and Willington resident Jose Velazquez, 58, was detained by troopers for his role in the alleged domestic incident.
Police said that while interviewing Velazquez about the domestic disturbance, troopers found he was in possession of two bags of alleged cocaine, and keys to a vehicle - which he attempted to discard - to a car he claimed didn’t belong to him.
A Connecticut State Police canine was then sent to the scene, and the dog, Loki, alerted troopers that there was potentially narcotics inside the vehicle, prompting further investigation.
During the subsequent search, police seized - with an assist from the DEA - approximately 661 grams of “gray death” fentanyl, 238 grams of cocaine, 44 grams of heroin and 17 grams of methamphetamine.
Velazquez was arrested at the scene and charged with disorderly conduct, possession of narcotics, sale of a narcotic substance, sale of more than a half ounce of cocaine, operating a drug factory and possession of drug paraphernalia. Velazquez is currently being held in lieu of $500,000 bail or bond and is due to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Tuesday.
